I’m Usman and I’ll be the societies treasurer for the year. I’m responsible for controlling the finances of the society and ensuring the money we have is used appropriately throughout the year with your best interests in mind.
I’m a PhD student at the university studying Molecular Biology so I will likely be kept busy with my work so you may not see me as often as the other members. Nonetheless, I will also be helping the other committee members with their responsibilities when I can, and you should still see me around! – Don’t be afraid to say hi :D
I was originally drawn to Japan through traditional Japanese pop culture (ehem anime) and have been interested in Japanese culture ever since. I am still a novice when it comes to the Japanese language so hopefully I can also learn along with everyone else.
I’m looking forward to meeting new people with similar interests and I hope you all have a wonderful time in the society!
